Did you know that the average daily coffee drinker could use enough double cups, in a year, to reach the height of a three story building????

cup-a-roundTM a division of 1675029 Ontario Inc.

check out this section for environmental information related to our product!

Or enough paper sleeves to span the length of two city buses???  That is a lot of trees every year!!
Now compare that to one cup-a-roundTM!!!!
At cup-a-roundTM we have tried to make our sleeves, as safe as possible for both the worker, the consumer and the environment.  Our sleeves emit no volatile organic compounds (VOCS), nor contain PVCs (polyvinyl), nor do they contain the now controversial bisphenol A (BPA).  It is interesting to note, that althought BPA is now a concern for the consumer, and the environment, we never had it in our product.

Our product is all North American Made!!!  Right down to the printing equipment that applies the heat transfer decals.  This eliminates any unnessary transportation, or importing of commercial goods, from oversees.  This reduces green houses gases that would have been emitted during a long transportation of goods...Ultimately local production, is not only better for our local economy but it is also better for the environment!

Some quick tidbits!
The practice of double cupping uses in excess of 281.85lbsof paper/10000 cups.
This relates to an extra of 2029 pounds, per 10000 cups, of greenhouse gases for that second cup.
It requires 5.55 MBtu/10,000 cups to produce that second cup/or 39.4 million Btu per ton of paperboard.
To make 100 million cups you require 4,300 tons of trees.
The bleaching of the paper and the dyes used in the production of the second cup add more hazardous material into the environment .

Reduce, Reuse then Recycle
It’s no accident that "Reduce" is the first "R"!
This mantra was created in order of importance to optimize the use of our precious resources.
As a society we have come to rely on recycling as our sole means of reducing waste.  Too often we buy a daily bottle of water or packaged good justifying the purchase through the knowledge that the package can be recycled.
Recycling is a VERY important aspect to a sustainable community, however, as a society, we need to rethink our consumption. We tend to rely on recycling to offset our consumption when we should focus on buying less and using less. Remember: Recycling requires energy and resources to accomplish its task!
To help facilitate such a life altering change we need to look at reducing consumption. We need to purchase less: In particular, we need to purchase fewer "throw away" items.

This brings me to the next point which is "Reuse". We need to purchase goods that are durable and therefore sustainable. We can reduce the use of products daily disposable items-such as bottled water, or double cups and paper sleeves!
By reusing a durable, safely made product, you can reduce the extra energy required to recycle disposable products.
In this aspect I am very proud to say that I have used the same cup-a-roundTM for the last two years!
By using goods that are durable and produced in a conscientious manner we can accomplish as much as possible in following the intent of the three "Rs".
First Reduce our consumerism and the purchasing of disposable products.
Second Reuse
purchase products that are durable and can be reused many times.
Lastly Recycle
those goods when they are no longer re-usable.
